Gemugranel
An insensitive detonator emulsion with high fragmentation power, requiring a booster.
Its use is compatible in water-filled holes, and its transportation conditions are safe. It is moved in bulk through pumping, with the particularity of being sensitized as an explosive on-site, in the desired quantities.
It fills the entire borehole, allowing for lower efficiency losses and higher performance levels: quarries, open-pit mines, or tunnels.
USE CASES
Gemugranel comes in the form of a liquid with high viscosity and is recommended for operations requiring a large volume of explosives, particularly open-pit mines and large quarries. Gemugranel is water-resistant and can be used in dry or wet holes. Recommended for all types of rock (hard, semi-hard and soft). After loading the holes with Gemugranel, the product can remain in the hole for up to 10 days before blasting (depending on geological conditions).
Forms of Application
Gemugranel is applied using mechanized mobile units specially designed for the application of Gemugranel. These multi-compartment units mix various components in order to raise optimum awareness of the Gemugranel. The material fills the entire section of the hole, allowing for an optimization of the existing drilling.
TYPE OF INITIATION
Gemugranel, after its sensitization, is initiated by using a booster (consult FEM Technical Team for your choice) of adequate capacity taking into account the diameter of the hole and the load used.
STORAGE
As it is in a liquid state with high viscosity, its storage is carried out in tanks or silos specially designed for this purpose. The shelf life after manufacture is 3 months.
TRANSPORT
Transport class 5.1, being a product that presents enormous safety for its transport. Transport is carried out in cisterns or mobile units, specifically designed for this purpose.
SAFETY
Due to the fact that it is a non-sensitized explosive agent, Gemugranel has a high degree of safety in its handling and transport, however, all procedures related to the transport and handling of explosive material must be observed. Handle with care. Risk of ignition if exposed to shock, friction, fire, or other sources of ignition.
